[Read the November 21, 2003 Forum Article on Brandon Carmichael]
With the information I've gained through the last number of years, I now travel to schools and community groups to speak about the very real dangers of tobacco.
I have spoken to several schools (high schools, junior high schools, and colleges) in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.
I've even had the chance to speak on behalf of American Cancer Society to the ND Legislators.
Because of my involvement in speaking to others about smoking, I was asked to serve on a tobacco network in the Fargo-Moorhead area that influenced local law makers to pass smoke free ordinances for restaurants.
I was a member of the Community Health Grant Program Advisory Committee; which deals with the tobacco settlement monies for the state of North Dakota.
I even serve on the state council for ACS (American Cancer Society).
I do enjoy all of this. I feel that we are making a better place for our children.
Even though it is an honor to serve with these groups, my passion is speaking to individuals and groups about tobacco and Buergers disease.
I am available for your next school assembly, church group, college or community program.
If you are interested, fill out the event request form so I can contact you back to set up an event.
